Mark is a pianist and educator with a focus on new American repertoire.
He is currently Director of Piano Studies at South Dakota State University.
Performance
Mark maintains an active performance schedule of solo and collaborative recitals. He is equally versed in traditional and contemporary repertoire, with a special interest in the music of living composers.
Teaching
Dr. Stevens teaches a wide range of university students and pre-college pianists. He routinely presents workshops and masterclasses at universities and conferences throughout the United States.
Commissioning
One Drop Contains Oceans is a large-scale commissioning project featuring new works from 10 American-identifying composers. The project premieres May 2nd, 2025, with future performances, lecture recitals, and recording scheduled in the upcoming years.
